Euroclean Pre-Rinse Spray Unit of Gebr. Echtermann GmbH & Co. KG

Echtermann is a niche provider for premium products. The project goals for the value-analytical re-engineering of the pre-rinse spray unit were to reduce costs at least 10%, conduct a market and customer analysis in order to rethink the product program, get to know the product and its environment better by utilizing an on-site approach on the customer’s premises, provide continuing education to the participating employees and motivate them and implement methods for systematic product development at Echtermann. The goal of manufacturing cost reduction was exceeded and the project proved worthwhile and moreover. Project report as PDF

Shuttle XP Vertical Lift

Kardex Remstar has managed to further optimize this storage principle with its products and is the market leader in the segment of dynamic storage systems. One of the steps the Kardex Remstar company has taken to counteract this trend is optimizing the costs of manufacturing the Shuttle XP series through a value analysis project. The clients were aware of the fact that the aim of reducing manufacturing costs for this product by 15% was extremely ambitious and the hopes of success with conventional means rather low. The results showed that using the evaluated, effective ideas, the team put together a concept designed to ensure achievement of the targeted 15% reduction in costs. The WALDNER Laboreinrichtungen GmbH & Co. KG Company is a company of the successful WALDNER Group with its commercial residence in Wangen/Allgäu. Its range of products includes essential laboratory fume cupboards, laboratory tables and laboratory cabinets as well as the related media carriers (media covers, media cells, etc.). The goals of the value analysis based reworking of the SI fume cupboard product group were among others the reduction of the manufacturing costs (based upon a selected representative) in the amount of 35% of the current manufacturing costs. Overall, through the value analysis project, the manufacturing costs for the SI fume cupboard were able to be reduced by >35% (based upon the reference fume cupboard).
